There is no known reason for Vicky to have Acquired Factor VIII Inhibitor.

We are unaware of any occurance of this within her family. Vicky was healthy. High blood pressure was her only known problem, which was kept under control by medication.

Vicky's diet? Nothing unusual, she is a fresh vegetable lover, and prefers bottled spring water to the taste of tap water from our faucet. She leads a much healthier lifestyle than most people. Vicky is also caffeine free for several years.

Vicky's activity level was above normal. Vicky was always up to something productive before the Aquired Factor VIII Inhibitor. Whether it be gardening, crocheting, cooking, cleaning house, or her daily exercises, Vicky always kept busy.

Needless to say, our house was kept spotless. I (the husband Craig) attempted to keep the house in a liveable condtition while Vicky recovers.

Born in the Philippines, Vicky retains ties to the La Trinidad area in Benguet Province. Benguet Province is on Luzon Island, which is the northern main island of the Philippines.

Vicky has been an American citizen for many years. We married January 12, 1974.

When we moved to Omaha, Vicky "temporarily" took a job at Golden Manor to help us out financially till I could earn enough to support us. Golden Manor is a residential care facility. This "temporary" job lasted about 15 years. Finally on her birthday one year we decided it was time for her to quit her job.
